BSAC Dive Leader Course Malta - Diver Leadership Training
The BSAC Dive Leader course is ideal for BSAC members who want to take a more active role in their club, and it is a step on the path towards becoming an Open Water Instructor. Dive Leaders are key members of their clubs, able to lead both inexperienced and experienced divers, organise dives, and handle situations where something unexpected occurs.
Entry requirements
- Successful completion of a Sports Diver course or other agency equivalent
- A nitrox qualification
- Aged 14 years or older
What the course covers
Dive Leader has three core elements: leading inexperienced and experienced divers, dive management, and rescue management. The formal learning is five assessed theory modules, completed online before you join us. You then complete five open water training dives and three practical lessons with one of our BSAC instructors. If you have not dived for a while, or you are coming from another agency, we begin with a refresher training dive to make sure you are ready to progress.

Alongside your online theory assessments and the training sessions with us in Malta, you also need to:
- have at least 60 dives in a variety of conditions relevant to your local environment
- complete the Oxygen Administration SDC within 2 years of completing your Dive Leader assessment
What's included in the price
- Tuition
- Cylinder and weight hire
- Road transport to the dive sites
Extras
- BSAC eLearning code (purchased from BSAC before you start your Dive Leader training) and BSAC membership
- Equipment hire: €25 per day

Add the Oxygen Administration course
If you wish, we can arrange for you to complete your Oxygen Administration SDC alongside your Dive Leader course. The theory is completed online, then you spend time with one of our instructors on the practical sessions. The cost of the Oxygen Administration course taken with the Dive Leader course is €150.
