Discover Scuba Diving with Extra Dive Malta – Beginner Day Package

Discover Scuba Diving with an extra dive is a full day's diving for complete beginners in Malta, under the guidance and care of a qualified instructor — no experience needed. It is our most popular try-dive option, giving you two dives in a day rather than one, so you get far more time in the water.

We start the day in two metres of water, teaching you some basic diving skills so you feel comfortable with the equipment and the sea. Once you have those skills, your instructor leads you further out into the bay to a depth of eight metres. Then it is a short break on land to enjoy the sun and grab a snack and a drink while we change to full cylinders. Rested and refreshed, you kit up a second time and head out for a second dive. The whole package takes around four hours.

Who is this for?

Complete beginners aged 10 and over, no experience necessary. All participants complete a standard medical statement, and anyone under 18 needs written parental consent. You need to be able to swim a short distance unaided, but you do not need to be a strong swimmer. As with all our try-dive sessions, we provide one instructor for every two participants.

What's included

Two guided dives, all your dive equipment, and the care of a qualified instructor throughout. All you need to bring is a towel, a swimming costume and a change of dry clothes for afterwards. It is also worth bringing water — a refillable bottle you can top up at our centre is ideal.
